Confidentiality is observable in how a practice actually operates.
- One named recipient per report, agreed at mandate stage
- Sources approached without reference to the client or the matter
- Need-to-know access within the practice, matter by matter
- No publication or reference to a client matter without written authorisation
- Defined retention, followed by secure destruction
Why Anonymised Case Material Matters
A firm that markets its client work in identifiable form is demonstrating exactly how it will treat yours. Illustrative material should be unattributable by construction.
The Client's Part
Limit internal circulation of a report, name a single recipient, and avoid discussing an engagement in channels you do not control.
